After picking up our valued guests from the specified points, we begin our journey for the Boutique GAP tour with ITC TUR.
Dear guests,
Upon arrival in Diyarbakır, the oldest and most established city of the Southeast, we first start with the famous Diyarbakır breakfast at the historic inn (Extra). We visit the Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı Museum House, the Diyarbakırlı poet known for the poem “At thirty-five, life is halfway over.” In this beautiful house, where different spaces are created for each season, you will see fine examples of the region’s civil architecture. After our museum visit, we tour the Grand Mosque, which is the first in Anatolia and the 5th Harem-i Sharif in the Islamic world. After visiting the Four-Legged Minaret and the Surp Gragoz Armenian Church, we take a panoramic view of Keçi Bastion and Urfa Gate, the oldest of the Diyarbakır walls, whose construction date and the civilization that built it are unknown, but are known to have a history of 9000 years. Then, we meet at Mardin Gate by our vehicle and see and photograph the Hevsel Gardens, located on the banks of the Tigris River in Diyarbakır, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015, and having a unique cultural and historical significance beyond its agricultural value. Afterwards, we head to the Ten-Eyed Bridge, one of the first places that comes to mind when Diyarbakır is mentioned. During Hıdırellez, local people used to write their wishes on a cloth and throw it into the Tigris River from this bridge. After a short photo break at the Ten-Eyed Bridge, we get back into our vehicle and head toward Mardin, where our next stops are located. We begin our visit to Dayrulzafaran Monastery, considered the center of the Syriacs. Here we see the Church, Medical School, Sin Temple, Baptistery, and Tomb sections. Mardin, where religions and languages meet, described as a city with a necklace-like beauty at night and a place of leisure by day, and a blend of many different cultures and beliefs from Syriacs to Arabs, enchants its visitors with its stone craftsmanship and urban texture. In Old Mardin, a protected urban conservation area, we will begin our tour with Kasımiye Madrasa. The small pool in the madrasa courtyard adds coolness to the structure, and when you listen to our guide’s explanation of the fountain called Selsebil, you will be enchanted once again. After our lunch, we start walking toward the Grand Mosque. After our walk through narrow stone streets and through the bazaars, we continue our walk by passing under the Abbaras, which run beneath the houses where municipal cleaning work is done with — donkeys —, after listening to the explanation of the minaret of the Grand Mosque, known as Camii Kebir, the largest mosque in Mardin, which will be read like a poem. After the free time we will provide, we head to our hotel for our first overnight stay.

Dear guests,
After the breakfast we will have at the hotel, we take a short tour in Midyat. You can find some of the finest examples of the Telkari art, delicately crafted over centuries by Syriac masters. After free time in Midyat, where you can see the most beautiful examples of the Midyat houses you know from the Sıla series, we head to our first stop in Şanlıurfa: Göbeklitepe. We arrive at the Göbeklitepe Mound, located near Örencik Village in Şanlıurfa, which hosts the first temples in the history of civilization of Anatolia and the world, and is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. With its discovery, Göbeklitepe, whose history dates back 12,000 years, changed not only the history of the region but also the history of humanity, and in recent years National Geographic magazine featured it on its cover worldwide with the slogan “The Place Where Religion Was Born.” After receiving historical information from our guide about Göbeklitepe, of which only a very small part has been uncovered so far and which is considered the center of pilgrimage of the Neolithic Age, our next stop is located in the southwest of Şanlıurfa city center and is known as the place where Prophet Abraham fell when he was thrown into the fire. It is one of the most visited places in Şanlıurfa with its sacred fish and the historical artifacts around them. After seeing Fish Lake (Halil-Ür Rahman), formed at the place where Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire, and Aynzeliha Lake, said to have formed from the tears of Zeliha, the daughter of Nemrut, and after receiving information from our guide, we give free time. Then we provide free time for shopping in Şanlıurfa’s authentic bazaars, Bakırcılar Bazaar, Bedesten, Sipahi Market, İsot Market and Gümrük Hanı so you can buy products specific to Urfa. After the free time, we head to our hotel. Guests who wish may participate in the Sıra Night (Extra), which will be organized as an extra activity where we can get to know the local culture.
