The Great Journey Begins Our massive journey into the mystical geography of South America begins with our meeting with the tourism officials at Istanbul Airport’s International Terminal. With Turkish Airlines’ comfortable, wide-body aircraft, we depart at 20:35 for Santiago, the capital of Chile, which blends the country’s modern and historic faces. On this long but exciting intercontinental flight of approximately 18 hours, we spend the night in the sky accompanied by THY’s world-class refreshments and in-flight entertainment systems.

DAY 2: SANTIAGO

A Modern Metropolis in the Shadow of the Andes We arrive at Santiago International Airport in the morning hours. After customs and passport procedures, we meet our private vehicle and set off to explore the city. In Plaza de Armas, considered the heart of Chile, we see the finest examples of colonial architecture, the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral, and the historic Post Office building. Then, we make a panoramic visit to the Government Palace **"La Moneda"**, the most important structure in Chilean political history and bearing the traces of the 1973 coup. The highlight of our city tour will be San Cristobal Hill, where we can view the city like a painting. From here, we will witness the immense contrast between modern skyscrapers on one side and the seemingly endless snowy Andes Mountains on the other. DAY 3: VALPARAISO & VINA DEL MAR

The Colorful Spirit of the Pacific Ocean After breakfast at our hotel, we turn our route toward the shores of the Pacific Ocean. After an enjoyable journey of about 1.5 hours, we arrive in Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Chile’s most important port city. This is a place famous for its steep hills, historic elevators (funiculars), and graffiti that turn its walls into works of art. As you walk these streets that inspired Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda, you will feel like you are in an open-air museum. After Valparaiso, we visit its neighboring city, Vina del Mar, known as the "Garden City" for its luxurious beaches, palm-lined avenues, and well-kept parks. On this tour accompanied by the ocean breeze, we see the city’s iconic flower clock (Reloj de Flores). In the evening, we return to Santiago accompanied by sunset views of the Andes.

DAY 4: SANTIAGO | Personal Discoveries and Free Time in the City

We are dedicating today as a free day so that you can explore Santiago, one of South America’s most modern and safe capitals, as you wish. After breakfast, our guests who have become well acquainted with the city can leave the hotel to experience different sides of Santiago.

Recommendation: Art-loving guests may visit Pablo Neruda’s eccentric hilltop house **"La Chascona"** or spend time in the colorful streets of Bellavista, the city’s bohemian district.

Shopping and Gastronomy: The artisan village of Los Dominicos, where you can find Chile’s world-famous wines and local handicrafts, will be a great stop. For lunch, the historic Mercado Central is an ideal choice for those who want to try fresh seafood.

Dinner and accommodation will again be at our hotel in Santiago.

DAY 5: SANTIAGO – CALAMA – SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

A Moon Journey in the World’s Driest Desert

In the early morning hours, around 07:00, we depart from Santiago Airport and fly to Calama, the mining city in northern Chile. Upon arrival at the airport, we meet our private vehicle and, passing through red earth and endless plains, make a journey of about 1.5 hours to San Pedro de Atacama, the heart of the desert.

After a short check-in at our hotel and a lunch break, we begin our tour of Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), the most enchanting spot in the region:

Walking on the Moon’s Surface: As you wander among salt and sand formations shaped by wind and water over millions of years, you will feel as if you are on another planet.

Salt Sculptures and Caves: We will see the natural artwork "Las Tres Marias" (The Three Marys) and discover the mystery of the crystallized salt caves.

Death Valley (Valle de la Muerte): We will witness the dramatic landscape created by enormous sand dunes and sharp cliffs.

Sunset Ceremony: We will experience the most unforgettable moment of the day at the viewpoint where the sun sets over the Andes, painting the desert in countless shades of pink, orange, and purple.

After our excursion, we head to our hotel to rest in San Pedro’s adobe-walled, authentic streets and breathe in the silence of the desert night.

DAY 6: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA – HITO CAJON – UYUNI (BOLIVIA)

Cross-Border Journey at the Summit of the Andes

Today, we bid farewell to Chile’s red deserts and cross into Bolivia Altiplano, one of the world’s highest and most impressive plateaus. Departing early in the morning from San Pedro de Atacama, we reach Hito Cajon, the Chile-Bolivia border gate. After passport procedures, we transfer to the 4x4 off-road vehicles (Jeeps) waiting for us and step into Bolivia’s surreal nature.

Natural Wonders We Will See Along the Way:

Laguna Verde (Green Lake): At the foot of Licancabur Volcano, this lake, shining emerald green thanks to the minerals inside it, will be our first stop.

Salvador Dali Desert: We take a photo break among wind-shaped rock formations and colorful hills reminiscent of the famous painter’s canvases.

Laguna Colorada (Red Lake): Home to thousands of James’s flamingos and a red lake that will enchant you with its color, this will be one of the most unforgettable points of our journey.

Our journey continues toward the Colchani region, located right on the edge of the Uyuni salt flats, in order to acclimatize to the altitude and enjoy a safe rest. After dinner, we stay in one of the region’s most comfortable and secure "Salt Hotels," whose architecture is built entirely from salt blocks.

DAY 7: SALAR DE UYUNI

An Infinity Experience in the World’s Largest Mirror

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off in our 4x4 vehicles to explore Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat with an area of approximately 10,500 square kilometers. Today will be a day ruled by optical illusions and otherworldly landscapes.

Stops of the Day:

Train Cemetery (Cementerio de Trenes): We take our first photos in the dystopian atmosphere created by enormous steam locomotives from the 19th century abandoned in the middle of the desert.

Colchani Village: We witness the local people’s traditional salt-processing methods and examine handicrafts made from salt.

Incahuasi Island (Giant Cacti): Located in the middle of the salt sea, this volcanic island covered with giant cacti reaching up to 10 meters tall offers us a 360-degree view of Salar’s endless whiteness.

Salt Eyes (Ojos de Sal): We see the cold spring waters erupting from beneath the salt layer and the geological wonders of nature.

Lunch: In the very center of Salar, we are guests at one of the world’s most special tables with a "Picnic Lunch" prepared especially for you amid the endless whiteness.

Perspective Photos and Sunset: Thanks to the depth illusion created by the salt flat, we will have free time to take fun perspective photos. As the day ends, we crown this dream by watching the sun set over Salar, which turns into a mirror with the reflection of the sky, accompanied by local wine service.

DAY 8: UYUNI – LA PAZ

The World’s Highest Capital and the Earthly Signature of the Moon

With the first light of morning, we go to Uyuni Airport and depart at 07:30 on a flight to La Paz, Bolivia’s administrative capital and the city above the clouds. After a flight of about 1 hour, we arrive at El Alto, the world’s highest international airport.

After leaving the airport, we begin our tour to explore this vertical and chaotic yet equally fascinating city:

Cable Car (Mi Teleférico) Experience: The best way to explore La Paz is to ride the cable cars, which offer magnificent views beyond being a modern transportation network. As we cross over the city, we observe from above the immense settlement in the shadow of Illimani, the snowy peak of the Andes.

Witches’ Market (Mercado de las Brujas): We enter the mystical world of the local Aymara culture. From dried llama fetuses to healing herbs, traditional amulets to colorful textiles, we see many interesting objects together.

Plaza Murillo: In the city’s main square, we make a brief journey through Bolivia’s political history by viewing the Government Palace, Parliament Building, and Cathedral from the outside.

Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna): We move to this natural wonder about 10 km from the city center. As we walk among the enormous stalagmites, labyrinths, and strange landforms created by eroded clay and sandstone, we will feel miles away from the world.

After our city tour, we use free time to get to know La Paz’s unique character more closely and try local flavors.

DAY 9: LA PAZ – CUSCO (PERU)

Journey to the Sacred Capital of the Incas

After one last enjoyable breakfast and some free time in La Paz in the morning, we turn our route toward Peru. In the afternoon, we transfer to La Paz Airport and leave Bolivia on Avianca Airlines’ 15:50 flight.

After a comfortable flight of about 1 hour 15 minutes, we arrive around 16:05 in Cusco, the legendary capital of the Inca Empire called the "navel of the world."

Rest and Acclimatization (Adjusting to the Altitude): Since Cusco is located at an altitude of about 3,400 meters above sea level, upon arrival we transfer directly to our hotel. We spend the rest of the day as free time to acclimatize our bodies to the altitude and rest before the intensive Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley tours we will take in the coming days.

Guests who wish may sip the famous Coca Tea at the hotel to recover from fatigue or take a short walk for dinner through Cusco’s dimly lit romantic streets adorned with colonial architecture.

DAY 10: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Journey to the Mystery of the Lost City Machu Picchu

Today, we set out early to explore the legendary "Lost City" Machu Picchu, the pinnacle of Inca civilization.

Sacred Valley and Train Journey: In the morning, we transfer by private vehicle to Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved villages in Inca history. From there, on our comfortable tourist train, we reach Aguas Calientes after an enjoyable journey of about 1.5 hours along the Urubamba River, accompanied by unique views of the Andes and tropical forests.

Machu Picchu Exploration: A short bus ride from the town takes us to Machu Picchu, discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham and the most important religious and astronomical center of the Incas. Accompanied by our professional guide, we visit the Temple of the Sun, the Room of the Three Windows, Intihuatana (the place where the sun is tied), and the agricultural terraces. We create unforgettable memories in the mystical atmosphere of this engineering marvel among the clouds.

Free Time: After our tour, we will have free time to spend on our own in this captivating ancient city, take photos, and feel the energy.

Return Journey: In the afternoon, we go back down to Aguas Calientes by bus and then return to Ollantaytambo by train. With the vehicle waiting for us at the station, we arrive at our hotel in Cusco in the evening.

After all the distance covered and climbing done today, we relax in Cusco’s peaceful atmosphere in the evening.

DAY 11: CUSCO – PUERTO MALDONADO

Entering the Amazon Rainforest and the Sound of Wildlife

In the morning, we transfer to Cusco Airport and take a short flight to Puerto Maldonado, where the tropical climate prevails. After being welcomed at the airport, we leave our main suitcases securely at our city office and head to the river port with only our small bags containing what we need for the forest camp.

River Journey: With a motorized canoe ride of about 45 minutes on the Madre de Dios River, we reach our Eco-Lodge deep in the river and immersed in nature.

Lodge Check-In: After being welcomed with tropical fruit refreshments, we settle into our bungalows in the heart of the forest.

Night Exploration: Before dinner, accompanied by our guide, we set out on an exciting river or forest walk to see the forest’s nocturnal inhabitants (caimans, giant spiders, and night birds) waking up.

DAY 12: AMAZON RAINFOREST (FULL-DAY EXPLORATION)

A Day in the Heart of Biodiversity

We dedicate today to discovering the unique biodiversity offered by the Amazon.

Canopy Walk: We experience the forest from a bird’s-eye view by walking on suspended bridges built at the top layer of the forest, among the crowns of giant trees. We watch parrots and monkeys in their natural habitats.

Sandoval Lake: In the depths of the forest, we glide silently by canoe on this famous lake, home to giant river otters and hundreds of bird species.

Ethnobotanical Tour: We learn from our local guide about the medicinal plants used by Amazon indigenous peoples for thousands of years and the mysterious world of giant trees.

DAY 13: PUERTO MALDONADO – LIMA

From the Forest to the Modern Capital

After breakfast accompanied by the forest’s enchanting chorus, we return to Puerto Maldonado by canoe. We take our suitcases from the office, transfer to the airport, and fly to Lima, Peru’s gastronomic capital.

Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel in Lima. In the evening, we will have free time in this city, home to some of the world’s best restaurants, to taste Peruvian cuisine (such as Ceviche and Lomo Saltado).

DAY 14: LIMA – BOGOTA (COLOMBIA)

From Lima, the City of Kings, to Bogota, the Capital of El Dorado

After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we begin our tour to explore Lima, a city on the Pacific coast that blends the historic and the modern perfectly.

Historic Center (UNESCO): We visit Plaza Mayor, the heart of Lima, where we will see the most elegant examples of Spanish colonial architecture. We see the Government Palace, City Hall, and the buildings famous for their magnificent wooden balconies, then visit the historic San Francisco Monastery, known for its underground tombs (catacombs).

Modern Lima (Miraflores & Barranco): We take a pleasant walk in the Miraflores district, built atop huge cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and stop for photos at the famous "Park of Love" (Parque del Amor). If time allows, we visit Barranco, the city’s bohemian side, famous for its art galleries and graffiti.

Gastronomy Break: Before heading to the airport, we will have free time to experience Lima’s world-famous cuisine.

After our city tour, we transfer to Lima Airport. With Avianca Airlines’ 17:35 flight, we bid farewell to Peru and depart for Bogota, the capital of Colombia. After a flight of approximately 3 hours 15 minutes, we arrive in Bogota at 20:50.

After being welcomed at the airport, we check in to our hotel. We retreat to our rooms to rest before tomorrow’s great Bogota exploration.

DAY 15: BOGOTA

A Colonial Tale and the Gold Legend at the Summit of the Andes

Today, we explore Bogota, the cultural and political heart of Colombia, at 2,640 meters above sea level, step by step.

Monserrate Hill: We begin the day by ascending, by cable car (or funicular), to Monserrate Hill at 3,152 meters, the city’s symbol. From here, while overlooking Bogota’s endless panorama, we breathe in the cool air of the Andes. We visit the white church and the local market on the hill.

La Candelaria (Historic District): In this area, considered the heart of the city, we walk among narrow stone streets, colorful colonial houses, and creative graffiti. In this neighborhood where history and art intertwine, you will feel like you are in a time machine.

Plaza de Bolivar: In this magnificent square, the country’s political center, we hear from our guide the story of Colombia’s independence while viewing the Palace of Justice, Parliament Building, Cathedral, and City Hall from the outside.

Gold Museum (Museo del Oro): We visit this fascinating museum, home to the world’s richest collection of pre-Hispanic gold artifacts. Among more than 30,000 gold pieces, we witness the origins of the legendary "El Dorado" story.

Botero Museum: In this special museum donated by the artist, we see the "fat" figures in paintings and sculptures interpreted in the unique style of Colombia’s world-famous artist Fernando Botero.

After this intensive day-long exploration, we will have free time in the evening. Guests who wish may sip one of the world’s best coffees in Bogota’s famous coffee shops or dinner INCLUDED.

DAY 16: BOGOTA (COLOMBIA) – ISTANBUL

Farewell to South America and the Return Journey

The final day of our unforgettable journey across South America’s mystical geography, stretching from Chile’s deserts to Bolivia’s salt flats, from Peru’s ancient cities to the depths of the Amazon. After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we will have free time for last-minute shopping and to say goodbye to the city.

At noon, we transfer to El Dorado International Airport, the gateway from Colombia to the world. With Turkish Airlines’ comfortable and modern aircraft, we take off toward Istanbul at 15:10. On this long flight across the Atlantic Ocean, we enjoy a comfortable night in the sky with THY’s award-winning refreshments and rich in-flight entertainment system.

DAY 17: ISTANBUL

Return Home

After our journey above the clouds, we arrive at Istanbul Airport around 15:30 local time. After passport and customs procedures, we conclude this massive journey with memories that will last a lifetime and new friendships in our bag.
