Tour details

Day 1: Çeşme – Chios Island

For the Chios Island tour, we meet at 08:00 in the morning at the check-in office at the entrance of the Çeşme customs port. After passport control, our pleasant journey across the blue waters of the Aegean begins at 09:00. When we arrive at Chios Port, after the entry procedures we meet at our office, leave our suitcases, and give free time until transfer time. You can explore the Chios market area called APLOTERYA, the MECİDİYE Mosque built by Sultan Abdulmecit, the VOUNAKİ SQUARE, the largest and busiest square on Chios Island, and discover the island’s streets.

Day 2: Chios Island

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the CHIOS CASTLE, which was built during the Byzantine period but later became the administrative center of the island during the GENOESE and OTTOMAN periods, and the OTTOMAN works inside it. At the scheduled time we meet on our bus and head north. Our first stop is the 4 windmills by the sea (TABAKİKA), which appear on every platform as one of the island’s most important symbols. The role of the historic windmills was to draw water for the leather-processing tanneries (tabakika), which also gave the area its name. In recent years, with the contribution of the municipality, they have been restored and have become a memorial point that all tourists visiting the island never leave without seeing. After our photo break here, we continue our tour. Our next stop is DASKALOPETRA, the area where Homer, the island’s most famous poet in ancient times, brought the Iliad and Odyssey to world literature. A large rock that was turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC. This beautiful memorial point will make you question the lifestyle of thousands of years ago and the artistic understanding of that era. Then we take our lunch break in LANGADA, the island’s cutest fishing village. In the classic Greek taverns (restaurants) by the sea, you will have the chance to taste traditional mezes and classic Greek dishes as well as the freshest seafood. On the way back, we stop for a photo at the AGIOS ISIDOROS church on the sea, one of the island’s symbolic spots. It is said that the story of mastic begins with this Saint. After this stop, we head to the hotel and have free time.

North Island and Chios Island City Tour are included!

Day 3: Chios Island – Çeşme

After breakfast, we take our seats on the bus and begin our tour toward the villages in the south of the island called MASTIHAHORIA, which monopolizes the production of MASTIC on the world. Our first stop on the tour is a short break to visit the village of ARMOLIA, famous for its handmade ceramics for hundreds of years, and one of its famous ceramic workshops. Our next stop is MESTA, which has preserved its architectural structure best among the many medieval castle-villages on Chios Island. It takes us on a journey through time back to the 13th century, the period when it was built. Walking through its labyrinth-like side streets, we reach the square in the center of the village and take a coffee break. After visiting the Church of Taksiarchis, we leave the village. Our next village is PYRGI, which is unique in the world with the geometric shapes on its houses. Our guide gives us detailed information about this technique called ksista, which has been practiced for centuries from the Genoese period to the present day. Then we go to a seaside tavern for lunch. Here our guests can choose whatever they like from a menu consisting of various seafood and mezes. Our return is at 18:00. We hope to see you on your next trip..
