ISTANBUL – BASEL – (Freiburg Tour) – ALSACE/BASEL
After arriving at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport International Terminal 3 hours before departure and completing baggage drop-off, ticketing, and passport control procedures, we fly to Basel at 10:40 on Pegasus Airlines scheduled flight PC939. After our arrival at Basel Airport at 11:50 local time, we depart by our private bus waiting for us to organize our Basel city tour. Basel, the 3rd largest and most crowded city in Switzerland after Zurich and Geneva, is located in the north of the country, on the borders with Germany and France. In our panoramic city tour in Basel, where people from many parts of the world live and which is considered one of Europe’s most metropolitan cities with this feature, the main sights include Marktplatz, which is considered the city square and also houses the government building, Basel Gate (Spalen Gate), one of the oldest structures in the city, Basel Cathedral, and the Rhine River. After the Basel tour, we offer free time. During this free time, guests who wish may join our extra Freiburg Tour program (50 Euro). We set off for Freiburg, one of the most important examples of green urbanism. In our city tour of Freiburg, the city of happy people, where only low-carbon-emission vehicles have been allowed since 2010 and transportation is mainly provided by tram and bicycle, it is possible to see traces of the historical and architectural cultures of Germany, France, Austria, Spain, and Sweden, under whose protection the city has been throughout history. In our city tour of Freiburg, also known as the capital of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), the city’s most important symbol, Freiburg Cathedral, charming streets with small water channels unique to Freiburg, Martin’s Tor, the city’s medieval gate, and Rathausplatz are among the places to be seen. After the Freiburg tour, we head to our hotel in the Alsace/Basel region. Upon arrival at the hotel, room check-in and free time to rest.
ALSACE/BASEL – (Pearls of Alsace: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour) – (Strasbourg & Outlet Tour)
After breakfast, we offer a full day of free time. During this free time, guests who wish may join our extra Pearls of Alsace: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour program (80 Euro). Our first stop on the tour will be the fairy-tale town of Colmar, where we will see the Old Customs House, the Pfister House, and the colorful houses around the Rhine River, as well as the city’s most famous area, Petite Venise (Little Venice). In the unique setting surrounded by the Rhine River and canals, you will find both many delicious foods to suit your taste and many souvenirs to buy. Our next visit point is Riquewihr, famous for its vineyards, flower-filled balconies, unique rows of shops, cobbled streets closed to car traffic, buildings that somehow survived World War II without damage, and charming cafés; its tower, which also houses the Dolder Museum that brings the city’s story to the present day with documents, will remind you of Grimm fairy tales. During the free time after the tour, guests who wish may join our extra Strasbourg & Outlet Tour program (75 Euro). Located on the border of Germany, Switzerland, and France, and also the largest city in the Alsace region, Strasbourg will welcome us like a scene from a fairy tale, with the beauty of a painting. During the city tour we will carry out by walking in Strasbourg’s pedestrian-free center and streets, which was added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 1988 and has hosted the European Parliament since 1992, we will see Petite France, famous for its Alsace Houses that make us feel right in the middle of a fairy tale land, Gutenberg Square and Statue, Notre Dame Cathedral, the city’s most important structure located in the very heart of the city, and Kammerzell House, the city’s oldest house, which continues to serve today as a hotel and restaurant. After the free time offered following the Strasbourg city tour, we set off to visit the outlet. We will offer free time at the outlet center, which hosts the stylish stores of many prestigious brands, cafés and restaurants, and personal activity areas. After the free time at the Outlet Center, we return to our hotel in the Alsace/Basel region.
ALSACE/BASEL – (Lucerne & Bern & Swiss Alpine Villages by Train: Interlaken & Lauterbrunnen Tour)
After breakfast, we offer a full day of free time. During this free time, guests who wish may join our extra Lucerne & Bern & Swiss Alpine Villages by Train: Interlaken & Lauterbrunnen Tour program (125 Euro). Our first visit point on the tour will be Lucerne. In Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most popular tourist centers, famous for its nature and the festivals held throughout the year, we will have the chance to photograph the views of Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi, see the Musegg Wall and the Lion Monument in the old town where old houses are located, and see the city’s symbol, the Chapel Bridge, and the Jesuit Church dating from the 17th century. After the Lucerne Tour, we set off for Interlaken. Named “inter-lakes” because it is located between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, and famous for its natural beauty and enchanting views of these beauties, we will carry out our tour in Interlaken. The region’s important hotels, casinos, and shopping streets are located along the route of our walking tour. The Victoria Jungfrau Hotel, one of the city’s historical symbols, and Höhematte Park are among the places we will see panoramically. After the free time offered for photos and sightseeing, we move to the train station to go to Lauterbrunnen, the next visit point of our tour. We arrive in Lauterbrunnen after an approximately 20-minute journey by train departing from Interlaken. We will feel the deep structure of the valley and the steep rock walls as we leave the station. Walking toward the village center, we will panoramically see and have the chance to photograph the enchanting structure of Staubbach Falls hanging down toward the valley floor. Lauterbrunnen is known for its small settlements lined along the valley, which is home to 72 waterfalls, and its walking paths. In our walk along the designated route within the village, we will take plenty of photos of the region’s traditional chalet architecture, the natural formations surrounding the valley floor, and its wonderful nature-like-paradise scenery. We complete our tour by returning to Interlaken. We head to Bern, the next visit point of our tour. Bern is one of the few cities in Europe that has remained completely unchanged since the Middle Ages. Because of this historical texture, it is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Located within Swiss borders and with German as the official language, the influence of German culture is also seen in Bern’s architecture. After our city tour in Bern, built around the Aare River, we return to our hotel in the Alsace/Basel region.
