Day 1 ISTANBUL – ROVANIEMI – SAARISELKA
We meet at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, international departures terminal, three hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket, and boarding procedures, our flight to Rovaniemi begins with Pegasus Airlines’ special charter. Upon arrival, we proceed to our private bus waiting for us at the airport and depart for our Rovaniemi city tour. First, we visit Santa Claus Village, known as the village of Santa Claus. During our tour, where we can meet Santa Claus, take photos, and send postcards from Santa Claus’ post office, we will also have the opportunity to buy region-specific souvenirs. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in Saariselka and free time. Accommodation at our hotel. In the evening, guests who wish may join the extra “Northern Lights Hunt” (65 Euro) tour. Polar lights, or the Polar Aurora, are natural light displays seen in the sky in polar regions, resulting from the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field and charged particles from the Sun. In northern latitudes, this phenomenon is called Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. There is no exact date when this can be seen, but December, January, February, and March are the best months to observe this beautiful natural event. Day 2 SAARISELKA
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the extra “Reindeer and Husky Safari with Lunch” (450 Euro) tour. Departing from our hotel, we head to the reindeer farm. After putting on our special thermal clothing, we take a half-hour sleigh ride pulled by reindeer and receive our driving certificates. Then we proceed to the Husky farm. After receiving training on how to steer the sleds pulled by Husky dogs, we get into our team sled for an enjoyable ride. Guests who wish may join the extra “Snowmobile Safari” (180 Euro) tour. After putting on our special thermal clothing, we take our approximately 1-hour safari with snowmobiles. Afterwards, guests who wish may join the extra “Aurora Borealis Planetarium Show & Kakslauttanen Aurora Night” (150 Euro) tour. First, with the Aurora Borealis show at the Planetarium, we discover the formation of the Northern Lights, their colors, and the unique dance they perform in the sky, accompanied by impressive visual presentations. Thanks to this enchanting show, we have the opportunity to get to know one of nature’s most impressive phenomena up close. Then we turn our route toward Kakslauttanen, one of the most special spots in Lapland. In this unique area far from light pollution, while feeling the magical atmosphere of the polar night, we carefully watch the sky and, if we are lucky, witness Aurora Borealis dancing in green, purple, and pink tones. We enjoy unforgettable moments with the silence of the snow-covered nature, the star-filled sky, and the unique beauty of the Northern Lights, immortalizing this fairy-tale atmosphere with photos. Day 3 SAARISELKA
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Guests who wish may join the full-day “King Crab Safari with Lunch in Kirkenes” (550 Euro) tour. Against magnificent polar landscapes, we both discover nature and have the opportunity to get closely acquainted with the king crab, one of the world’s largest shellfish. Accompanied by experienced local guides, we venture into Arctic waters, explore the king crabs’ natural habitats, and learn interesting information about this unique hunting tradition. Throughout this unforgettable day spent in the harsh yet fascinating nature of the North, we closely feel Norway’s polar culture. After the safari, we enjoy this unique delicacy with a freshly prepared King Crab lunch. This gastronomic experience, extending from the clear waters of the Arctic to our table, adds an unforgettable flavor to our trip. On this special tour combining nature, adventure, and gourmet experience, we explore Kirkenes’ unique atmosphere and collect memories at the Arctic Circle that we will remember for a lifetime. Day 4 SAARISELKA – ROVANIEMI – ISTANBUL
Early in the morning, check-out from the rooms. Then, at the time to be determined by our guide, transfer from our hotel to Rovaniemi Airport. After completing our baggage and passport procedures, depart for Istanbul on Pegasus Airlines’ special charter. Following our arrival at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the tour ends.
