Day 1
Istanbul – Crete
Meeting 3 hours before departure at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal in front of the Aegean Airlines counter. After baggage and ticket procedures, depart for Crete at 16:00 with Aegean Airlines scheduled flight A3435. After arrival in Crete at 17:30 local time, our tour of Crete begins with the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. According to legend, Crete, the birthplace of Zeus, bears the traces of many civilizations deep in history. On the island, whose history extends from the Minoan civilization to the Ottoman Empire, places to be seen include Plateia Eleftherias (Freedom Square), Agios Titos Church, Rasih Bey Mansion, Agios Minas Cathedral, the Ottoman Bon Marche Building, the fountain of the Valide Sultan Mosque, the Evkaf Building, Morosini Fountain, Ottoman Barracks, Venetian Loggia, Venetian Harbor and shipyards. After the city tour, transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Crete
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Magnificent Towns (Spinalonga & Elounda & Agios Nikolaos) tour, organized as an extra. (90 Euro) Our first stop on the tour is Spinalonga. With a short boat ride from the port town of Plaka, we will reach Spinalonga, where we will discover the island’s historical structure and see traces from the old colonial period. After enjoying unique views, our second stop is the harbor town of Elounda. Elounda is a coastal town on the island of Crete known for its luxury resorts, stylish restaurants, and beautiful beaches. After the break here, our final stop on the tour is Agios Nikolaos. Located on the eastern coast of the island of Crete, Agios Nikolaos is one of Crete’s popular tourist destinations. Known for its beautiful beaches, historical heritage, and surrounding natural beauty, the city’s name comes from Saint Nicholas and is considered the city’s protector. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3
Crete
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Magnificent Villages and Cities (Fodele Village & Rethymno & Chania) tour, organized as an extra. (90 Euro) Fodele, the birthplace of El Greco, one of Crete’s most famous painters, is one of the popular tourist spots for visitors with its natural beauty and historical and cultural significance. The village is known for its traditional houses with typical Cretan architecture, narrow streets, and squares. After the tour, our second stop is Rethymno. As the third largest city on the island of Crete and one of its important tourist centers, Rethymno has a rich historical and cultural past. Rethymno’s historical texture dates back to the Venetian period, and many architectural works from the Venetian and Ottoman periods can be seen in the city. One of the city’s most famous symbols is the Venetian Rethymno Castle. The castle is located right next to the city center by the sea and, as a historical structure, is a popular spot for both history enthusiasts and photography lovers. Rethymno’s narrow, cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and inns in the old town area offer a historic atmosphere. Rethymno is also famous for its beautiful beaches. Especially the coastal areas located to the south, such as Platanias, Bali, and Georgioupolis, are popular destinations where tourists can enjoy the sea and sun. After the tour, our final stop is Chania. Located in the western part of Crete and one of the island’s most important port cities, Chania is famous for both its historical texture and natural beauty. Also known as Hanya, Chania stands out as one of the most beautiful and most visited places in Crete. The Venetian Harbor is one of the city’s symbols and is home to many historical structures around it. These include the Venetian Lighthouse, the Venetian Archaeological Museum, and the Crete Maritime Museum. It also attracts visitors with its narrow, cobblestone streets and traditional Greek houses. After the pleasant time we will spend here, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4
Crete-Istanbul
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the Knossos – Archanes Village tour, organized as an extra. (90 Euro) Knossos is an ancient archaeological site on the island of Crete and one of the most important centers of the Minoan civilization. On this tour, we will visit the Knossos Palace, built in 2000 BC and the capital of the Kingdom of Minos, and then see the palace, believed to be a legendary labyrinth and containing many rooms. After the tour, we head to Archanes village, which is close to Knossos and famous for its traditional stone houses, narrow streets, and olive groves. After the walking tour here, transfer to the airport. After baggage and ticket procedures, depart for Istanbul Airport at 15:45 with Aegean Airlines scheduled flight A3434. Arrival at 17:10 local time and the end of our tour.
