Day 1: Trabzon - Samsun - Skopje – Belgrade
After meeting in front of Trabzon Hanife Hatun Mosque at 15:00, we depart with our private vehicle to Samsun Çarşamba Airport. Meeting at the departure terminal in front of the Ajet Airlines counter 3 hours before the flight. With Ajet Airlines scheduled flight VF4278, we depart from Samsun at 23:55 nonstop direct to Skopje. After a comfortable journey of approximately two hours, we arrive in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, at 01:25. After entry procedures, we begin an enjoyable journey to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, with our private vehicle waiting at the airport. Belgrade, one of the most important cultural and strategic centers of the Balkans throughout history, still attracts attention today with its vitality, dynamism, and historical texture. In this fascinating city, we will have the opportunity to discover the intersection of Ottoman and European cultures. After arriving in Belgrade, a panoramic city tour begins, during which we will discover the city in all its splendor. Here, you can feel the historical atmosphere and explore the texture of Belgrade that brings together the past and the present. Then we go to one of the city’s most impressive points, where the Sava River meets the Danube River. In this unique view, it will be a great pleasure to discover this area, which throughout history has often been the focal point of conquest and victory. As we continue to explore this ancient city, where Fatih Sultan Mehmed was wounded for its sake, but its conquest came to Suleiman the Magnificent, you will encounter Belgrade Fortress, used as the supply center of the Ottoman navy. As we trace history in this fortress, we will see important points such as Fortress Square and Stone Square. During our tour, we will visit the Tomb of Martyr Ali Pasha, one of the important figures of the Ottoman period. Day 2: Belgrade – Srebrenitsa – Sarajevo
After breakfast, we depart for Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On our route, we first stop in Srebrenitsa. On this tour, we will visit the Bosnian Martyrs Cemetery, where one of the greatest massacres of the last century took place during the Bosnian War, thousands of Bosniaks were killed and buried in mass graves, and the first documented genocide and the largest massacre in Europe since World War II occurred. After arriving in Sarajevo, a city that for centuries has been the cultural capital of the Balkans and went down in history as the place where World War I broke out following the assassination of Austro-Hungarian Crown Prince Archduke Franz Ferdinand by the Serbs in 1914. During the 1992 war, it suffered great destruction as a result of the devastating wars between Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks, but Sarajevo managed to preserve much of its beauty. This bridge was destroyed in 1992, but was rebuilt in 2004 with the contributions of the Republic of Turkey. The Clock Tower, the symbol of Tirana, built by Ethem Bey in 1821, is also one of the highlights of our tour. Upon arrival in Bitola, we visit the Military High School where the Great Leader Atatürk studied and the Atatürk Museum from the outside. In this magical city, we will also explore Ottoman-era historical works such as the Turkish Bazaar, the Bedesten, Ishak Pasha Mosque, and the New Mosque. As we feel Bitola’s historical texture, you will have the chance to take a pleasant walk through the city’s nostalgic streets. After our visit, we set off to discover Macedonia’s unique nature and cultural treasures. Our first stop is Tetova (Kalkandelen), one of Macedonia’s striking towns. Here, we will visit the Painted Mosque, one of the most colorful and impressive mosques in the Balkans. Built in the 15th century, this mosque will fascinate you with its vivid colors and detailed decorations on the exterior. As we explore this rare example of Ottoman architecture, we will embark on a journey into the depths of history. After our visit in Tetova, we continue toward Skopje. Upon arrival, our city tour begins. Skopje is one of the Balkans’ important cultural centers with its heritage from the Ottoman period and modern structures. We begin our tour with historical sites in Skopje, the city where the famous Turkish poet Yahya Kemal Beyatlı was born. Our first stop is Mustafa Pasha Mosque, one of the city’s largest and most magnificent mosques, built in 1492. Then we visit Murat Pasha Mosque, built in the 15th century. This mosque especially stands out with its Ottoman-era decorations and architecture. Continuing our tour, we will see Kapan Han and Sulu Han in the heart of Skopje. These structures, fine examples of Ottoman inns, were once important centers where merchants stayed and traded. Then we visit Stone Bridge, which has become the symbol of Skopje. This bridge was built in the 15th century and connects the two sides of the Vardar River. Walking from the Stone Bridge, we will continue our tour by seeing the Turkish and Jewish neighborhoods along the banks of the Vardar River. During our riverside walk, we pass through Macedonia Square. This square is Skopje’s largest and most central point and is surrounded by modern buildings. Here, we will encounter the statue of Alexander the Great and other monuments. Then we see the Ottoman Bridge from the outside, dating back to the 15th century, and visit the Davut Pasha Bath to once again feel the splendor of the Ottoman period.
